Start with what you'll cook most. For cakes, breads, biscuits and tandoori grilling, a classic OTG (oven toaster griller) with top and bottom elements gives the most room for the money; look for a convection fan for even baking and a motorised rotisserie for whole chicken. For crisp samosas, fries and tikkas with little oil, an air fryer oven blows hot air harder and usually adds presets and a touch screen. Then pick the size: 16 L for two or three people, 25–30 L for most families and 35–50 L for big families or batch baking. Finally, check the temperature range, the wattage your socket can take and how the warranty works; some brands need you to register for the second year.
We only list OTGs and air fryer ovens rated 4.0★ or higher on Amazon, with at least 100 reviews and an Amazon "bought in the past month" badge showing at least 100 a month, and we recheck them regularly. Each product page says whether it is a classic OTG or an air fryer oven. Capacity, power, functions and warranty come from each model's own listing; where Amazon shows identical ratings on two models, we say they appear to share a rating pool. Basket-style air fryers are on our air fryer page.
Our Best Overall is the Glen 35L OTG (about ₹5,500): a convection fan, a motorised rotisserie and 6 heating modes, 400+ bought a month on Amazon, 4.0★ from 2,761 ratings and a 2-year warranty. The iBELL 25L (about ₹4,200) is our Budget Pick and the best-selling classic OTG we list; the iBELL 40L (about ₹5,900) is our Best Value; and the Ninja Combi, which steams as well as air fries and bakes, is our Premium Pick.
A classic OTG heats with elements above and below the food, sometimes helped by a fan; it is the traditional choice for cakes, bread and tandoori grilling, and the ones we list are 16–50 L. An air fryer oven blows hot air hard around the food to crisp it with little oil, usually with presets and a touch screen; the ones we list are 12–25 L. Both bake, grill and toast. If you mostly want crisp snacks, look at the air fryer ovens; if you bake large cakes or batches, a bigger OTG gives more room for the money.
Bajaj says its 16 L model suits 2–3 people. As a rough rule of thumb (not a maker figure), 25–30 L suits most families of 3–4, and 35–50 L suits bigger families or batch baking. Check counter space too: the 50 L iBELL is 57 cm wide.
A convection fan spreads heat more evenly, which helps cakes rise and brown evenly; a rotisserie turns a whole chicken or kebabs as they grill. In our list the Glen 35L and iBELL 30L, 40L and 50L have both, and the Bajaj 1603T's listing says it has both too. The iBELL 25L has a rotisserie but no convection fan listed.
The ovens we list are rated 1200–2200 W. A 1600 W OTG running at full power for 30 minutes would use at most 0.8 units, about ₹5–6 at ₹6–8 a unit; the thermostat switches the elements on and off, so actual use is usually lower. Plug it into a 15A or 16A socket rather than an extension board.
The Glen 35L, Bajaj 1603T, AGARO Regency, Ninja Combi, Nutricook Steami X and Faber 20L give 2 years outright. iBELL gives 1 year plus a second year if you register within 30 days. SOLARA gives 1 year, and Faber's 14L and 25L listings don't state a warranty.
