Kitchen chimneys for Indian cooking, each rated 4★ or higher on Amazon with real monthly sales. Compare suction, filter type (baffle or filterless auto-clean), motor, noise, size and warranty.
Each pick suits a particular kind of buyer. The Indian Kitchen Score rates every product on its own, so a pick can score lower than a pricier model.

An Indian kitchen asks more of a chimney than most: daily tadka, deep frying and masala-heavy gravies put out a lot of oily smoke. Two choices matter most. First, size: the hood should be at least as wide as your hob (60cm for most 2-4 burner stoves, 90cm for bigger ones). Second, filter type: baffle filters are cheaper but need washing every few weeks, while filterless auto-clean models collect oil in a tray and clean themselves. If your kitchen can't be ducted, a ductless plug-and-play model is the alternative.
We only list chimneys rated 4.0★ or higher on Amazon, with at least 100 reviews and an Amazon "bought in the past month" badge (at least 100 a month for models added since October 2026), and we recheck them regularly. Suction, size, filter type, motor, noise and warranty come from each model's own listing; where sizes share one Amazon rating pool, we say so.
A baffle chimney traps oil in steel baffle filters that you wash every few weeks; a filterless chimney collects oil in a tray and heat-cleans itself at the press of a button. Filterless costs more but needs far less cleaning. In our list, baffle models start at about ₹5,000 (Wonderchef Power Elite) and filterless models at about ₹9,000 (Livpure Fenix 60).
Pick a hood at least as wide as your hob. Brands list 60cm chimneys for 2-4 burner stoves, 75cm for 3-5 burners and 90cm for 4-6 burners. Many models come in two or three sizes; on Amazon these often share one rating, which we note on each listing.
Most chimneys we list are rated 1,200-1,600 m³/hr. Around 1,000 m³/hr is enough for light cooking; if you fry and temper daily, look for 1,400 m³/hr or more. The Elica SPT H4 offers 1,600 m³/hr for about ₹8,600.
BLDC models usually offer more speeds (9 against 3) and Elica rates its BLDC chimneys at 48 dB against 58 dB for its regular models. They cost more: the cheapest BLDC chimney we list is the Livpure Eterna at about ₹11,000, and our Best Overall, the Elica WDFL 600 BLDC, is about ₹16,000.
Yes. Ductless plug-and-play chimneys, such as the Beyond Cube and the Elica Kitty Plug N Play, mount on the wall without core cutting and clean the air through filters before returning it to the kitchen. They suit rented homes. A ducted chimney vents smoke and heat outdoors, so choose ducted if your kitchen allows it.
Our Best Overall is the Elica WDFL 600 BLDC (60cm, 1500 m³/hr, BLDC, filterless, 15-year motor warranty, 4.5★). On a budget, the touch-control Faber Pluto (about ₹8,500, 4.6★) is our Budget Pick. For a 90cm hood, our Premium Pick is the Elica Flat FL 900 Max BLDC.
