Most gas stoves sold in India look much the same: a glass or steel top, brass burners and knobs. The differences that matter are the number and size of burners, auto ignition, safety cut-offs, whether the stove can run on piped gas (PNG), and a warranty that ranges from 1 year to 10. This guide compares every gas stove that passes our listing rule, using the makers' own specs.
How we chose. We list gas stoves rated 4★ or higher on Amazon, with at least 100 ratings and an Amazon "bought in the past month" badge showing at least 100 a month, checked on 12 October 2026. We checked 467 listings and 16 models pass. None of the Prestige, Pigeon or Sunflame listings we checked met all three conditions.
We haven't run hands-on tests. Burners, ignition, size and warranty come from each model's Amazon listing. Prices are Great Indian Festival prices on 12 October 2026; the product boxes below show today's price.

Our Picks
Best Overall: Elica Vetro 3 Burner (703 CT VETRO BLK)

Elica Vetro 3 Burner Glass Top Gas Stove (703 CT VETRO BLK)
Most families: a proven 3-burner glass top with 2 years on the burners and glass
The Vetro sells 800+ a month and is rated 4.1★ by 16,885 buyers, although Amazon pools that rating with the 2- and 4-burner Vetro models. Three burners (one small, two medium) let you run a pressure cooker, a kadhai and a tawa together on a 70 cm slab. Elica covers the glass, burners, valves and spark plug for 2 years, against 1 year on the Butterfly Smart stoves.
Things to know: ignition is manual, so keep a lighter handy. There is no large burner; if you often use a big pressure cooker, look at the Elica Vetro 773 AI or the Crompton FlameStar.
Budget Pick: Butterfly Smart 2 Burner

Butterfly Smart 2 Burner Glass Top Gas Stove
Small kitchens and tight budgets: the most-reviewed gas stove we list
With 25,360 ratings, it's the most-reviewed gas stove we list, and it sells 1,000+ a month at about ₹2,300. It has 6 mm toughened glass, a powder-coated frame and a drip tray.
Things to know: the warranty is only 1 year, and the listing doesn't say what the burners are made of. If warranty matters more than track record, the Surya Flame costs about ₹400 less and gives 2 years with doorstep service.
Best Value: Butterfly Smart 4 Burner

Butterfly Smart 4 Burner Glass Top Gas Stove
Big families on a budget: the cheapest 4-burner stove we list
At about ₹3,900, this is the cheapest 4-burner stove we list, and it sells 1,000+ a month. The next-cheapest 4-burner, the Everflame Prime, costs about ₹7,600.
Things to know: again only a 1-year warranty and manual ignition. Measure your slab before ordering a 4-burner.
Premium Pick: Beyond Dorado 4 Burner Hob Top

Beyond Dorado 4 Burner Smart Glass Hob Top with Flame Failure Device
Safety first: every burner shuts off its gas if the flame goes out
The Dorado has a flame failure device on every burner: if the flame goes out, for example when milk boils over or a draught blows out a low flame, the gas to that burner shuts off. It adds auto ignition and a digital timer, its burners are rated 4.5, 2.5, 1.7 and 1.7 kW, and it can sit on the counter or be built into a cut-out. It sells 500+ a month.
Things to know: about ₹16,000, roughly four times the Butterfly Smart 4-burner. It's 76 cm wide and weighs 16 kg.
