Most microwave ovens sold in India look alike from the front. The differences that matter are the type (solo, grill or convection), the size, and the warranty on the parts that actually fail. This guide compares every microwave that passes our listing rule, using the makers' own specs.
How we chose. We list microwave ovens rated 4★ or higher on Amazon, with at least 100 ratings and an Amazon "bought in the past month" badge showing at least 100 a month, checked on 12 October 2026. Sixteen models pass, from Panasonic, LG, IFB, Samsung and Godrej. LG's 20L grill model (MH2044DB) also qualified on ratings but couldn't be bought on Amazon when we checked, so it's left out.
We haven't run hands-on tests. Capacity, power, programmes and warranty come from each model's Amazon listing. Prices are Great Indian Festival prices on 12 October 2026; the product boxes below show today's price.

Our Picks
Best Overall: Panasonic 23L Convection (NN-CT353BFDG)

Panasonic 23L Convection Microwave Oven (NN-CT353BFDG)
Most families: a well-priced convection oven for baking, grilling and everyday reheating
This is the only convection microwave on our list selling 1,000+ a month, and it's rated 4.4★ by 2,721 buyers. Convection means it bakes cakes and cookies as well as grilling and reheating, and at about ₹11,000 it costs far less than most convection models. Panasonic gives 4 years on the magnetron (the part that generates the microwaves), against 1 year on most LG models.
Things to know: 23 L suits 3–4 people. If you bake for a big family, the 27–32 L models below give you more room. There's no rotisserie.
Budget Pick: Panasonic 20L Solo (NN-ST26JMFDG)

Panasonic 20L Solo Microwave Oven (NN-ST26JMFDG, Silver)
Reheating, defrosting and simple cooking on a budget
With 7,669 ratings at 4.3★, it's the most-reviewed microwave we list, and it sells 1,000+ a month at about ₹6,700. It's a solo microwave: it reheats dal, sabzi and rice, defrosts and cooks, with 800 W and 51 auto-cook menus on a touch keypad.
Things to know: a solo microwave can't grill or bake. The magnetron warranty is only 1 year.
Best Value: IFB 30L Convection with Rotisserie (30BRC2)

IFB 30L Convection Microwave Oven with Rotisserie (30BRC2)
Big families who bake and grill often, with a motorised rotisserie
The IFB is the most-reviewed convection microwave we list (4.4★ from 6,964 ratings). You get 30 L, a 360° motorised rotisserie for grilling chicken and tandoori starters, 101 auto-cook menus and 10 power levels. IFB covers the magnetron and cavity for 3 years.
Things to know: it's 54 cm wide, so measure your counter. It costs about ₹16,500.
Premium Pick: LG 32L Convection with Rotisserie (MC3286BRUM)

LG 32L Convection Microwave Oven with Rotisserie (MC3286BRUM)
The biggest oven we list, with Indian modes like roti basket and ghee
At 32 L it's the largest microwave we list, with a 2400 W convection heater, a rotisserie and 301 auto-cook menus. It also has the most Indian-specific modes: Indian Cuisine and Tandoor Se menus, a roti basket mode, ghee (LG says in about 12 minutes) and milk pasteurising. It's rated 4.3★ by 2,757 buyers.
Things to know: LG gives only a 1-year warranty, and the oven weighs 22.6 kg.
The Rest of the List
Solo microwaves (reheat, defrost, cook):
- IFB 24PM2S (₹8,490, 4.4★ from 3,240): more room (24 L) and power (900 W) than the 20 L models, with 3 years on the magnetron and cavity. A strong solo pick for a family of 3–4.
- Panasonic NN-SM25JBFDG (₹6,290, 4.3★ from 4,355): a black 20 L solo with a jog dial instead of buttons, which older family members often find easier.
- Panasonic NN-ST310QBFG (₹8,970, 4.2★ from 994): 25 L, 900 W and 85 auto-cook menus.
- LG MS2043BP (₹7,690, 4.2★ from 2,007): 44 auto-cook menus, including Indian Cuisine, plus steam clean. At 700 W it's less powerful than the Panasonic and IFB solo models.
- Godrej GMX 20SA2 (₹5,990, 4.2★ from 322): the cheapest we list, with a 5-year comprehensive warranty (on purchases from 1 April 2026, until Godrej withdraws the offer). It's basic: 700 W, a dial and no auto-cook menus.
Grill microwave (adds toasting and tikkas, no baking):
- Panasonic NN-GT221WFDG (₹8,290, 4.4★ from 604): the only grill-only model that passes our rule.
Convection microwaves (bake, grill, reheat):
- LG MC2846BV (₹13,990, 4.3★ from 1,741): 28 L with 251 auto-cook menus, including Tandoor Se, ghee and paneer/curd modes, but no rotisserie.
- Panasonic NN-CT645BFDG (₹13,400, 4.3★ from 2,462): 27 L with 5 years on the magnetron and 101 auto-cook menus.
- Samsung MC28A5013AK (₹13,550, 4.1★ from 2,728): 10 years on its ceramic enamel cavity and a curd-making and dough-proofing mode.
- LG MC2886BRUM (₹16,490, 4.3★ from 1,482): LG's 28 L with a rotisserie and roti basket mode.
- LG MJ2887BIUM (₹16,790, 900+ a month): a charcoal-lighting heater aimed at tandoori-style cooking, with 10 years on the heater (parts only).
- LG MJEN286UFWF (₹24,290, the most expensive we list): adds air frying and Wi-Fi to the charcoal model. Worth it only if it replaces a separate air fryer; see air fryer vs microwave.
The Warranty Fine Print
Warranties vary more than prices, and the part that matters most is the magnetron:
| Brand / model | Cover beyond the standard 1 year on the product |
|---|---|
| Godrej GMX 20SA2 | 5 years comprehensive (offer from 1 April 2026) |
| Panasonic NN-CT645BFDG | 5 years on the magnetron |
| Panasonic NN-CT353BFDG | 4 years on the magnetron |
| IFB 30BRC2, IFB 24PM2S | 3 years on the magnetron and cavity |
| Samsung MC28A5013AK | 10 years on the ceramic enamel cavity |
| LG MJ2887BIUM, LG MJEN286UFWF | 10 years on the charcoal heater (parts only) |
| Panasonic 20 L solos, NN-ST310QBFG and NN-GT221WFDG | None (1 year) |
| LG MS2043BP, MC2846BV, MC2886BRUM and MC3286BRUM | None (1 year) |
One listing quirk: Amazon's page for the LG MC2886BRUM mentions a Samsung ceramic cavity warranty, which looks like a copy-paste error. We've only counted LG's 1-year warranty for it.
How to Choose in 30 Seconds
- Only reheating and defrosting? Buy a solo model. The Panasonic NN-ST26JMFDG for the most proven, the IFB 24PM2S for more space, or the Godrej for the lowest price.
- Want to bake? You need convection. The Panasonic 23L for most families, the IFB 30L or LG 32L for big ones.
- Size: makers suggest about 20 L for 1–2 people, 23–25 L for 3–4 and 28–32 L for 4–6.
